# JSON Diff – Compare Two JSON Documents

Compare two JSON objects side by side to highlight additions, removals, and structural value modifications.

## What is JSON Diff?

JSON Diff compares two JSON documents structurally, not line by line, so differences in key order or formatting do not create noise. Paste the original on the left and the modified version on the right to see which keys were added, removed or changed, including inside nested objects and arrays. It is useful for reviewing API response changes, config drift between environments, and test fixture updates.

## How to use JSON Diff

1. **Paste the original JSON** — Put the first version in the left box.
2. **Paste the modified JSON** — Put the second version in the right box.
3. **Review the differences** — Added, removed and changed paths are highlighted automatically.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does key order matter?

No. Objects are compared by key, so reordered keys with the same values are treated as equal.

### Can it compare nested objects and arrays?

Yes. The comparison walks the whole structure and reports differences by their path.

### What if one side is invalid JSON?

The tool shows a parse error for that side so you can fix it before comparing.
