No. Standard PDF cropping modifies the visible viewing rectangle (CropBox). The underlying data streams outside the crop rectangle remain inside the PDF file structure. If you need to permanently sanitize confidential text, use a dedicated redaction tool.
Can I apply different crop margins to alternating odd and even pages?
Yes. For book scans and bound booklets where inner spine margins alternate with outer margins, you can configure asymmetrical crop coordinates for odd and even pages independently.
Will cropping a PDF reduce its file size?
Because cropping adjusts coordinate metadata rather than discarding uncompressed embedded assets, the file size will remain largely unchanged. To reduce file size after cropping, run the document through a PDF compressor.
