What is Base64 to Image Decoder?

Base64 to Image decodes Base64 text back into the original image. Paste either a full data URI (data:image/png;base64,…) or a raw Base64 string; the tool detects the image type, shows a preview with its dimensions, and lets you download it as a file. It is handy when debugging email templates, inspecting images embedded in CSS or JSON, or recovering an image from an API response.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the data:image/... prefix?

No. Raw Base64 works too; the image type is detected from the decoded bytes.

Why does my string not decode?

It may be truncated, contain line breaks or spaces from copying, or not be an image. Remove whitespace and make sure the whole string was copied.

Is the image uploaded to decode it?

No. Decoding uses the browser’s built-in Base64 functions on your device.
